Wedding dress shopping so far...

For this week’s Wedding Wednesday post I wanted to share my wedding dress shopping experience so far. It’s a moment every girl dreams of, shopping with their mom and close girlfriends and trying on tons of dresses! Maybe it’s because I have tried on an absurd amount of gowns in my lifetime thanks to all the pageants I did back in the day lol but I felt overwhelmed more than anything. Surprisingly enough, dress shopping has been the most difficult aspect of my wedding planning, however the best part of shopping was shopping with my mom, future mother in law, future sister in laws and friends!

I went into dress shopping with no vision of what my dress would look like, so the first try on session was overwhelming and a little stressful in so many aspects. By the second time I had gotten an idea what to expect and when I thought I had found THE dress, there were elements and logistics I wasn’t a huge fan of. I looked back at some of the photos and noticed things I wasn’t happy about and noticed I have been changing my mind a lot! By the third try on appointment, I had a better vision in mind and even had photos of styles I was looking for and tried on what I thought could be THE ONE but once again there were a handful of elements I wasn’t a fan of and would want changed, which has me wondering if its the right dress.

Advice for brides: Start dress shopping early! Visit lots of shops and don’t get sucked into buying a dress right then and there. It’s a big investment and you should definitely think about it before pulling the trigger because there are no returns or exchanges! Take lots of pictures and take a small crew of close people, having too many opinions can be overwhelming. And most importantly have fun! It’s one of the most exciting wedding experiences! ❤️️
