My Skincare Essentials
Jean Ahn
Hi everyone! Happy Friday!!
Recently I’ve been getting lots of questions about skincare and what kinds of products I use. I am pretty lucky and have fairly clear skin ( thanks to genetics) but in the last year and a half I have really buckled down and gotten serious about my skin. After purchasing a skincare fridge (check this post) I really stepped up my regimen and since then I have noticed smoother, clearer skin!
Here are the products currently in my rotation, a handful I have used for over a year!
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask: I have been using this sleep mask pretty regularly for the last year and a half and I just love it! It smells sooo good and it’s so light! I use this every few days and keep it cool in my skincare fridge.
Clinique Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturizer: I also rotate between this product and the Glow Recipe sleeping mask and use every few days or weeks depending on how my skin is feeling. I also love how light this moisturizer is and is 100% fragrance, sulfate, oil and paraben free!
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask: A friend of mine actually gave me this product to try and I have been using it for a few weeks now and I actually love it. Although there are mixed reviews online, this mask has worked for me. I also use this every few days and the mask is super light and it smells amazing! I wake up to baby smooth skin in the AM!
Rosehip Oil: I always like to find natural products as well and I found so many articles that mention the amazing benefits of rosehip oil. It’s known to smooth wrinkles, fade scars and “is loaded with skin-nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids. It also contains phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties.” It is perfect for winter if your skin is dry, as it helps brighten and exfoliate skin, reduce inflammation and help boost formation of collagen.
Majestic Pure Dead Sea Mud Mask: I got sent this product in a PR package and I have been using this product on and off for the last year and a half! It is a pretty intense mask ( tingly sensation upon application) but it is a great exfoliator and I recommend using only once or twice a week.
Rose Quartz Roller: While this isn’t actually a skincare product, I do use a rose quartz roller every night before I apply product. Pro tip- leave your roller in a skincare fridge or fridge overnight and roll upwards! It will feel amazing! There’s so many benefits of rose quartz. More on this post.
Slip Headband: Ok this isn’t exactly a skin care product either, I recently purchased a slip headband and its a perfect addition to your skincare routine. It keeps hair away from your face and its so silky smooth. I highly recommend investing in one to add a little something to your night time routine.
Skincare Fridge: I know I have brought this up quite a few times in this post but honestly after I purchased a mini fridge it changed my skincare routine! It made the redundant routine enjoyable! Plus I found a super cute pink retro looking fridge that looks so pretty on bathroom counter. I highly recommend investing in one, it will truly improve your skincare routine! I was able to actually snag a good deal on Amazon and paid under $50! I also like this and this.
