Wedding Day and Decor Details
Jean Ahn
Now that we are back from the honeymoon I am finally getting around to sharing about our wedding day details!
I had a very clear vision from the start and being the meticulous planner I am, I took the reins on about 99% of the details. Because the venue itself is stunning on its own, with majestic views of Lake Washington, only small touches were needed to complete the wedding decor. The theme colors were white, gold, and candy pink which were incorporated into the florals. Valentina’s Floral Design nailed the color scheme and brought my wedding color vision to life and I couldn’t have been happier with how the florals turned out.
For my bouquet I knew I always wanted a cascading bouquet and went with a design that would be light and easy to hold.
After searching for a very long time and trying on tons and tons of dresses, I finally found my dream gown! I went with a mermaid style with a long cathedral train from Elysse Bridal. When I saw it I knew immediately it was the one. It had all the elements I was looking for, such as the long buttons down the backside, a long cathedral train and a fitted beaded corset bodice. Michael went with a custom tux from Indochino, he picked the color, fabric and even the design of the inside of the tuxedo jacket. He was very happy with how the tux turned out and the fit was perfect!
Nailing the hair style also took some time and I had 3 different hair trials. I was cutting it really close by having a hair trial 2 days before the wedding and it wasn’t even exactly how I wanted it but I was so grateful for JoZ beauty for coming through and nailing the hair style on the big day. I went with a loose weaving braid with silver tinsel and a headband.
As for the reception decor, we reused some of the ceremony decor for the reception which made the switch much easier. The tables included a mix of tall and short vases. The venue provided champagne linens and white chiavari chairs which went perfectly with the decor. Sticking with the gold theme, the menu cards were printed in a calligraphy gold print on cream stationery which I actually found off The Knot and were pretty budget friendly as well. I used this same stationery suite for the ceremony programs and escort cards.
I recommend researching Pinterest on how you want your napkins and place settings. Every detail plays an important role in the guest experience and display.
For the escort card table I wanted a large floral arrangement to be a focal point. Before the ceremony this floral arrangement was used for the card and gift table and following dinner this flower arrangement was placed at the favor table. It was great to have a floral piece that you could easily move around to other areas.
For favors we went with gold keys that are actually bottle openers. They were classic, stunning and simple for guests to take home. We also had personalized candles left over from the shower which we added to the table as well.
We also added a pink flower wall and a pink customized light up sign. Abby’s Booth knocked it out of the park with their glam black and white photo booth (Kim K esque photo booth) and virtual photo booth against the flower wall. I couldn’t be happier with how these elements all turned out, thank you to Abby’s Booth for making it all a fun experience for our guests! I highly recommend them for your event!
Michael and I took dance classes for 3 months and worked with a choreographer on our first dance. We wanted something different and original so we started with a slow song “Finally found the one” and then mixed it into a fast song “Thunder” and included our bridal party at the very end. Our goal was to make it memorable and fun for our guests and to really get the party started. We truly lived our best lives on 7/23/22!
Thank you to all our vendors!
