A round up of my favorite spots in Vegas that are off the strip
Jean Ahn
Before moving to Las Vegas I thought the strip was the only place to visit, but since living in Vegas for six months now, there is so much the city has to offer! There are endless restaurants, activities and attractions to see outside of the strip! I love that there is a wide range of food options and delicious, authentic Asian food!
Here are some great food spots around the greater Vegas area that I’ve come to love!
Pho 7: the best Vietnamese restaurant I have been to so far, delicious pho, vermicelli bowls, spring rolls and if you’re really hungry ask for the bone in beef bahn mi its amazing!
Hikari Sushi: Sometimes the all you can eat sushi spots can be a hit or miss but this place is spot on. at $26 for all you can eat sushi its freshly made and brought out to your table. Make sure to go hungry to take full advantage of the AYCE!
Whiskey Licker Up: I tend to question the quality of food at restaurants in the touristy areas but this place has the most delicious burgers, sandwiches, subs etc. and friendly service! A great spot to watch games too!
Cubanidad 1885: I wasn’t too familiar with Cuban cuisine but after discovering this Cuban spot I am sold! Highly recommend their cuban sandwiches and flan!
China Mama: Great authentic Chinese cuisine and so delicious especially their noodle dishes!
Shanghai Taste: If you love dumplings this spot is a must. Their dumplings are all handmade and so delicious!
Red Plate: Inside the Cosmopolitan ( on the strip) delicious dumplings, won tons and noodle dishes plus the best service! For a strip restaurant this one is well worth the $$.
Al Solito Posto: Delicious and authentic Italian food inside Tivoli Village. This place gets busy so be sure to make a reservation before going!
Canaletto: Another good strip restaurant thats decently priced and has a great ambiance inside the Venetian. It also books up really quick so be sure to make a reservation.
Honey Salt: It’s hidden in a strip mall area of Summerlin, about 20 minutes from the strip, but they have the best brunch and everything is on point! It gets busy so make sure to make a reservation in advance!
Leone Cafe: Inside Tivoli Village theres a cute little Italian themed cafe with patio seating. They serve brunch, lunch and dinner too! I love their skillets for brunch!
I’ve rounded up a list of some fun spots to visit off the strip and are great photo spots too!
Red Rock Canyon: Enjoy a nice scenic drive through the red rocks and take in the canyon views! There also some great photo spots! Just an FYI its $10 to take the drive.
Seven Magic Mountains: If you take a 30 minute drive out of the city you will see colorful rocks in the middle of the desert. Its a huge tourist attraction so if you want to get photos without people in the background be sure to go early!
Fremont Street Experience: about 10 mins from strip you will find another fun and eclectic area called Fremont Street. Theres tons of hotels, casinos, stage performers and just an overall fun experience thats not as touristy as the strip. You’ll also probably see some interesting characters walking by! 😂
Circa: This new hotel and casino on Fremont Street is the best place to watch games ( in my opinion) and they have a year round pool party called Stadium Swim. It’s a fun atmosphere and has a huge sports book!
M Resort and Spa: This hotel is located in Henderson, about 20ish minutes south of the strip. It’s the Raiders official team HQ hotel! Inside you will find Raiders Tavern and Grill which features Raiders memorabilia and celebrates the rich history of the NFL team and a fun place to watch the Raiders games!
Allegiant stadium: We went to the ribbon cutting game at the stadium and it did not disappoint! The modernized stadium is minutes from the strip and has great views from any seat! Highly recommend catching a home Raiders game if you travel to Vegas during football season.
Red Rock Hotel and Casino: One of our regular spots, theres lots of great restaurants, our favorite is the Noodle Bar inside the hotel and Crimson Lounge which connects to their pool perfect for lounging in the spring/summer months and it transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. Be sure to get there early if you can’t get a reservation and book in advance since it books up super quick!
Those are some of the spots we have visited so far and theres so much more to see and do in the Vegas area! I’ll be sharing more spots as I find them!
